A professional photographer has taken the world’s clearest-ever photos of the moon by putting together its phases into a stunning image.
Usually lightning means only a few can be seen but Andrew McCarthy, an Astrophotographer compiled thousands of photos together over the moon phases in order to show it off in all its uniqueness.
Sharing the image to Instagram, California-based Andrew explained the photograph and dubbed All Terminator as an impossible scenario.

‘From 14days of images of the waxing moon, I captured the section of the photo that has the most contrast, and then aligned as well as blended them to express the rich texture across the whole surface.’ McCarthy explained.
He added: ‘This is very exhausting to say the least, namely because the moon doesn’t line up the day over day. Therefore, each photo had to be mapped to a 3D sphere and carefully adjusted in order to ensure each photo aligned.’
The main shots were, however, captured using an edge HD 800 and AS11600MM.’ Accordingly, the Lunar Terminator is recognized as the line between the light and dark side of the moon.
The sun is quite closer to the horizon in the terminator, establishing long shadows which gives the surface a 3-dimensional figure. The shadows, in turn, make the moon’s surface clearer as well as make features, including craters more visible.
